Since choosing our topic at the start of the semester, my partner and I did not have to revise our PICOT question, although we did have to research new articles to support our topic. We have chosen to focus our research on the delivery methods of infants and the impact that it has on the formation of their gut microbiome. We had found many articles that were supportive in the fact that infants who were born vaginally are able to better develop their microbiome as opposed to infants who were born via cesarean section. Although we started out with many articles, we had to find new ones because many of the ones that we originally found were not able to be critically appraised, which is a huge part of this project. This has been the biggest challenge that my partner and I faced during the project so far, but with the help of our professor we were able to find the correct articles and get the information we needed to support our PICOT question. I believe that my teammate and I work really well together; not only do we meet on campus after class to discuss the work, but regularly over zoom and we both participate and share the workload equally.
